E-business and Entrepreneurship Speaker Event was organised by the HKSS on July 23, 2014. Dr. Tommy Ho, the founder and chairman of Dodopal Holdings Limited (“Dodopal”), shared his experience on how he stretched his business from property development and investment to public transportation IC cards online platform in China. The change of field brought Dr. Ho a great challenge, yet he believed in his vision, took up the challenge and worked very hard and learnt through trial and error, eventually launching Dodopal with great success. Dodopal has rolled out into 20 cities with public transportation IC cards coverage of 80 million.
Dr. Ho believed that determination and commitment are the keys of the success and suggested that starting an entrepreneurship also requireda great vision.With his magnificent vision, Dr. Ho grasped the unprecedented business opportunity and Dodopal platform was then established. To further expand his business, Dr. Ho has also been continuously talking with many potential collaborators to excavate business opportunities. Dr. Ho believed that owing to the limitation of self, he leaves an open door for potential partnerships that can enrich the functionality of the Dodopal platform and thus bringing a better customers experience. Dodopal has formed partnerships with some recognised big companies such as Alipay, QQ Pay and China UnionPay etc. to leverage the costs on products and services deployment. Lastly, Dr. Ho reiterated that vision, determination, commitment and partnerships are the keys for Dodopal’s success.
